Google’s Chrome Summit 2024
Nice video review of Chrome Summit 2024. Corporate, then Some digital signage and then quick look at HP Engage kiosk for Burger King. Been awhile seeing HP in the kiosk space but they are fairly opportunistic. Recurring phrase for emcee was “now that applications have moved to the web…”. Google has a strong base in education for Chromebooks and that has sustained the development teams and infrastructure at Google which often rolls something out and then 3 years later rolls it back up.
Flex is literally a remix of Remix/acquisition and as far as device integration goes it suffers just like the TV-based OS Samsung uses with Tizen. Can be done for sure but it is as simple as hooking it up? Nope.
Here is the HP kiosk page (recently launched?) — https://www.hp.com/lamerica_nsc_carib-en/solutions/pos-systems-products.html#tab=self-service-kiosk
